The James Melbourne Mustangs are pleased to announce the signing of Free Agent Australian talent Mitch Humphries.
The 24 year old Australian representative joins the Mustangs after agreeing to part ways with Melbourne Ice. “I wanted a fresh start. Melbourne Ice and I agreed that it was time for me to move on,” said Mitch, “and talking to friends already at the Mustangs I was excited by what was going on here and wanted to get on board.”
Head coach Michael Flaherty explains the significance of the signing. "Mitch is a young player who has represented Australia at several World Championships both at junior and senior level,” Michael said, “so he’ll bring a lot of energy and experience to our playing group.”
Mustangs president John Belic adds, "Mitch is regarded as one of the best young players in the country and we are excited to have him at our Club. His enthusiasm for hockey and his enthusiasm for helping the club succeed is infectious."
Mitch will not be travelling this weekend. His first game could possibly be in a Derby against his former side on Sunday June 25.
